Anna Wagner Keichline
( 1998-1943 )
Anna Wagner Keichline was a pioneering American architect, serial inventor, suffragist and a WWW1 Special agent. She was the first registered women architect in Pennsylvania. She was also one of the first women to drive a car.
In her long and fascinating career, she was awarded 7 patents ranging from a Portable Partition (1927) to a space saving Bed for Apartments (1929) and a Kitchen Compartment (1926).

Her most ubiquitous invention is the Building Block (1927). Before Anna Keichline, all building blocks were solid. With her innovative subtractive insights, she started to subtract parts of the block to create what's commonly known as the ‘K Block’. This hollow block was inexpensive, lightweight and hence l
